Take to the Skies with High-Flying Thrills, Immersive Controls and Intuitive Gameplay in this Flight Action Game for the Wii
Description
The Wii controller features an accelerometer (yes, that's a real word!) that
senses motion, allowing users to control aircraft like real pilots. Forget the
analog stick! The Wii controller acts as the yoke of a plane. Tilt it up and
planes climbs in the air. Tilt it down and planes dive. Twist it left or right
and planes performs barrel rolls. Pretty simple eh?
What separates Wing Island from games like Pilot Wings is you're not always
flying alone. Instead, you take command of an aircraft squadron that can change
formation with the press of a button. Understanding flying formations is the key
to accomplishing a misson's goal. Flick your wrist and your squadron will
perform special tasks specific to the formation they're in. For instance,
suppose there's a fire on the ground and you need to cover more area with your
water drops. It's better to fly your planes in a spread formation rather than as
a cluster. With incredibly intuitive controls, anyone can pick this game up and
have a blast. What's more, two players can go at it via split screen in a series
of competitive tournaments!
The storyline revolves around conquering islands that each contains missions. Missions range from popping balloons to putting out fires to dropping cargo. For instance one mission may have you saving an ocean liner in distress as a fire blankets its exterior hull. Too much excitement for you? How about a more serene mission that has you exploring the island in search of an elusive cow? Found her? Cool, now you gotta take some pictures to prove it! Completing missions like these puts money in your pocket which you can then use to upgrade your plane. Upgraded planes can reach faster speeds, perform better aerobatics, and carry more types of cargo. Salivating yet? As you progress in the game, the islands become increasingly difficult. But with a wide variety to things to do there's always fun along the way!
