No, it’s not a French cooking simulation. Ratatouille is the upcoming game based on this summer’s Disney-Pixar animated film of the same name. In the game, you take control of the lead hero, a rat named Remy, who has ambitions to become a fine and well-respected chef. At a recent press event, THQ showcased the Wii and Xbox 360 versions of the game, which should be a fun adventure that sees release alongside the film this summer.
THQ’s demo revealed a few stages from the upcoming game, including a marketplace, the sewers, a courtyard, and so on. The game offers some pretty standard platforming action obviously geared towards the younger set. Remy will be able to perform the average gamut of 3D cartoony platformer moves, like running, jumping, climbing, tail swiping, and the like. Additionally, you’ll be able to pick up and use items along the way, as well as solve pretty rudimentary puzzles. Needless to say, the Wii version of the game will utilize the system's motion-sensing controls
While not as sharp as the 360 version presented at the press event, the Wii version wasn't too shabby. The game performed solidly in 480p, moving at a smooth framerate through nice-looking environments.
Ratatouille will launch this June with the film, meaning that fans will be able to pick it up and relive their favorite moments.
