Playlogic and Atari Italy Renew Distribution Agreement for New PS2 & PC Titles

The long-awaited new title Obscure II due for Italian release, September 2007.

Playlogic Entertainment, Inc. announced that it has renewed its distribution agreement with Atari Italy for the arrival of three new PC and PS2 games between July and September, including the long-awaited Obscure II for PS2 and PC.

The first PC title for release in July is Evil Days Of Luckless John which features all the best of a classic adventure game with detailed southwestern graphics adding to the versatile 3-dimensionality of the game. The player will have the task of helping poor unlucky John claim an inheritance left by his old uncle: a rich casino that the mafia has there eyes on… Furthermore, the 30-some characters, dozen or so bad-guys, touch of humor and simple functional interface make this adventure recommendable to an immense range of gamers.

Xyanide Resurrection, for release in September 2007, is the PlayStation 2 version of the homonymous game for PSP, also being released by Atari Italy. Xyanide Resurrection is a Shoot’em Up that succeeds in combining the classic mechanisms of this genre with new technology, displayed in 15 spectacular levels and 3 dimensions. The gamer’s task is to find and capture the wicked witch Aguira, who possesses mystical powers capable of creating new worlds and dangerous creatures in attempt to obstruct the hunt.

The long-awaited Obscure II for PS2 and PC, due out in September 2007, is the continuation of the esteemed survival horror Obscure, revealing one of the most pleasant surprises in this genre. After the disturbing first chapter adventures staged at a high school, the survivors find themselves faced with yet other terrorizing threat on the campus of Fallcreek University. For the first time in a survival horror, cooperative play-modes will be available: allowing a friend to enter into the game at any time to help the main player advance within the adventure. There are 6 different characters with unique abilities, endless action and adventure, strange creatures and fights, all set in a "teen horror movie" ambient. Add all that to the spectacular soundtrack performed by the Boston Symphonic Orchestra and the Paris Opera's Children's Choir, and you’ve got the unique atmosphere of Obscure II, one of the most anticipated titles of this autumn.

"We are very pleased with the renewal of our agreement with Playlogic" declared Andrea Loiudice, Group Product Manager of Atari Italy. "Playlogic has become an excellent partner and will surely enrich our line-up with several titles such as Obscure II that, we are certain, will not lack in game play satisfaction for even the most demanding gamers".

"Atari Italy has proven its ability to offer a strong focus in both newly launched products as well as back catalogue sell-through" comments Pierre Thiercelin, International Sales Director of Playlogic. "We look forward to seeing results with our new releases, particularly with Obscure II, due to hit shelves in the following months".
